Since 1987 the M HKA has grown into one of the most important centres for contemporary art in our country and attracts increasing interest from the public.

The 'Friends of the M HKA' was established in 1986 with a view to the smooth operation of the museum and the on-going realisation of its objectives,.
The main aim of this active association is to stimulate interest in contemporary visual art, especially in the context of optimum functioning of the M HKA. Around 600 members are currently helping to achieve the museum's objectives.

From the moment it was established, the association has continued to work hard on collecting funds in order to acquire works of art for the M HKA and to help in the realisation of the museum's initiatives and events. A striking example is, among other things, the organisation of a bi-annual fund-raising dinner. The proceeds are used to acquire a work of art by a renowned contemporary artist.

If the association wants to maintain its enthusiasm and continue to assist the museum, it has to be able to count on as many members as possible. By becoming a member of the Friends of the M HKA, you agree to share the objectives of the M HKA, support the M HKA both financially and idealistically and become closely involved in what goes on within the M HKA.

It goes without saying that your commitment has its compensations.
Members are notified of the exhibitions and activities in the M HKA, receive information folders and educational publications by post, are invited to vernissages and Friend's Dinners, can take part in guided tours, day trips and short trips, and can attend museum concerts, lectures and book presentations, etc.

Categories of subscription to the Friends of the M HKA:

* individual member - € 25
* junior (-25 years) and senior (+65 years) - € 20
* family formula - € 45
* supporting member - € 175
* promoter - from € 620

Each category has specific advantages.

Membership is valid from 1 January to 31 December of the current year.
So it is to your advantage to obtain your membership early in January.
Payments received after 1 November already count for membership for the coming year.

Method of payment:
• transfer to bank account number 409-8504401-67 of the 'Friends of the M HKA vzw'
• cash payment to the person in charge of reception in the museum.
