Children’s Arts Day: Crazy for art

Family

17 Nov 2024

Put on your party hat because we’re celebrating Children’s Arts Day! We’re inviting children, their families, and anyone who feels young to enjoy guided tours and games. Meet the quirky characters from Nástio Mosquito’s King of Klowns. Help flowers bloom or stretch out in the sun with Agnieszka Polska. Or roll apples “again and again” for Antje Majewski. Plus, anyone enjoying an (apple) juice at M HKAFE can indulge in a free PANA cake between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.!

Children’s Arts Day is celebrated at various museums as part of an initiative by the Department of Culture, Youth, and Media.

With King of Klowns, Nástio Mosquito introduces you to intriguing figures like the joker, the politician, and the preacher. Each character shares their unique perspective on the world. Look in the mirror: what do you value? In the Salon, discover a story about Santa Claus and a special Christmas celebration.

Lose yourself in Agnieszka Polska’s world, where a singing sun expresses its love for you while also highlighting the darker side of the earth. Tick tock. Watch how flowers come to life and bloom. True or not? Drift along on Polka’s thought clouds and uncover how art reveals what often remains hidden.

What do you know about apples? Antje Majewski believes apples are worth turning into art. In her exhibition, she showcases the apple repeatedly in different sizes, shapes, materials, and colours. Majewski invites you to create your own apple.

Panamarenko was a remarkable artist. He dreamed of moving freely on land, underwater, in the air, and in space. He sketched and calculated, inventing things that didn’t yet exist: floating cars, flying backpacks, zeppelins for living in, submarines, and flying saucers—he created it all. So, be sure to enjoy our PANA cakes!
