“Krokuskriebels” in M HKA

Family, Workshop

4-9 Mar 2025

Will you join us during Krokuskriebels?
From March 4 to 9, we offer various activities to discover art in a playful way. Every day, you can visit the Salon for games and creation accompanied by a guide. From March 4 to 7, you can participate in workshops where four artists set the rules of the game. The week ends with tours for toddlers during the special Krokus edition of M HKADEE.

Price: The workshops and Salon visit are free. For a visit to the exhibitions of Hugo Roelandt and Bruno Zhu, adults need to purchase a ticket. Children under 18 always have free admission. Members of Gezinsbond pay only €8 during Krokuskriebels. For the toddler tours, every participant, both adults and toddlers, must purchase a ticket via Eventbrite.

PROGRAMME

March 4-9: (Play)Salon with guide, 14:00-16:00
Between the exhibitions, the Salon on the first floor transforms into a space for exploration and play. Here, you’ll find materials and assignments inspired by the works of artists Hugo Roelandt and Panamarenko. From 14:00 to 16:00, a friendly guide will be there with a fun craft activity.

March 4-7: Art Play, 4 free workshops, 14:00-17:00
For the INBOX exhibition Showing Off, M HKA has collaborated with artists and the Antwerp Hospital School on a project centered around the theme “Play.” For Krokuskriebels, we’re bringing this concept to the museum, offering free mini workshops for four days. Each day features a different artist and discipline. Join us, and making art will become child’s play!

—Workshop 1: Earth Beings, with Yasmine Akondo
Tuesday, March 4, 14:00-17:00
Exploring the idea of existence. What is an Earth Being? Through drawing and writing, we let our imagination run wild. A brainstorming session with intriguing questions will help you on your way!

—Workshop 2: Least Wins, with Sanne De Wolf
Wednesday, March 5, 14:00-17:00
We create our own bowling pin out of wood and gold. In real life, we love to score points—as many as possible. But today, we flip the rules. The goal? To score the least!

—Workshop 3: Card Game Without Rules!, with Nathan Gotlib
Thursday, March 6, 14:00-17:00
Work alongside screen-printing artist Nathan Gotlib to create a unique card game where you decide the rules!

—Workshop 4: The Cloud Knitter, with Leo Reijnders
Friday, March 7, 14:00-17:00
In the imaginative world of artist Leo Reijnders (aka The Cloud Knitter), humans, monsters, and animals share the same living space. Through drawing, we create a whimsical universe of sports and play.

March 7-9: M HKADEE Toddler Tour, by reservation, 11:15-12:15
Admittedly, with their grabby fingers and curious mouths, toddlers often find it challenging to visit a museum. That’s why we’ve developed a tour tailored just for them. Together with a guide, explore the artworks through touch, sound, smell, or movement. >> Reserve your spot here
