Dispatches is a postcard initiative, organised by M HKA in partnership with the Visual Culture Research Center in Kyiv, exclusively for the Kyiv Biennial 2023.

From 1998 to 2003, the artist Kasper Andreasen collected printed ephemera from London, Copenhagen, Prague, and Amsterdam. When he moved to Berlin in 2016, he rediscovered all that material, kept in moving boxes, and asked himself whether he should do something with it or simply throw it away. By 2017, he’d decided to make collages with it.

The exhibition articulates and celebrates the common ground that comes alive through their work. Beyond their specific approaches to painting, storytelling and design, the two practices have in common to acknowledge interiors, and by extension interiority, as an essential place that contributes to the development of resilience, freedom, and, most importantly, the conception of new imaginaries.

Shen Xin is an artist working at the intersection of moving image, installation, and performance. Their practice explores various relations between individuals and the land they inhabit that exist outside the concept of nation.

This presentation brings together several 'transport objects', including Prova Car (1967), a masterpiece from the Flemish Community Collection.
