Introduction to Art

The interactive tour Introduction to Art revolves around the (first) encounter with art and the museum. Starting from the pupils’ familiar world, the guided tour then looks at the art.

Art speaks a language that consists of forms, colours and materials. What do you see? How is it made? Why is it made that way? These are some of the questions that form the starting point for a conversation between artwork and viewer. Through assignments on looking and searching, perception is being stimulated. The impressions the students gain, are expressed in many ways (for example, through a conversation, stories, drama, music, images, art assignments). Here, every idea, opinion, feeling and fantasy is valuable. A visit to the museum stands for enjoying art, gaining impressions, processing them and talking about them. It is an experience that offers material that can be developed, long afterwards, in the classroom.

For school groups applying for a guided tour, M HKA is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 on.
