Materials & Media LAB

Material and artwork are inextricably linked. Artists experiment like crazy with materials; within contemporary art, the possibilities are endless.

If the children’s hands start to itch when seeing the artworks, they can release the artist within themselves and go for it. That’s why in the Media & Materials Lab, we start from the museum as a studio space. In the lab, the children get to know a variety of materials. They dive into the art of DOING. Here, experimenting and exploring are encouraged.

The pupils do not aim at having a finished product, but they have a taste of the possibilities offered by the materials and focus on the creative process.

For school groups applying for a guided tour, M HKA is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 on.
