Media & Materials LAB

Media play an important role in our lives. In contemporary art too, the focus is on (new) media and materials. Artists are experimenting like crazy and the possibilities within art are endless. Contemporary artworks incite to get started oneself and they inspire youngsters – growing up in a world of images, film and multimedia – to decipher the imagery.

In the Lab Media Literacy, youngsters explore the museum rooms to see how artists create visual works. The four basic aspects of media literacy – art, creativity, analysis and reflection – are addressed in an active way. The lab primarily stands for experiencing and doing. In addition, both communicative skills and critical thinking are stimulated.

For school groups applying for a guided tour, M HKA is open from Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 on.
